Novella Wicks

My name is Novella, but I go by ‘Vel’. I am a dedicated and friendly Office Assistant/Receptionist at Shipman Chiropractic. I grew up in Moline and now reside in Moline. After graduating from Alleman High School, I attended Black Hawk College to further my studies. I belong to Sacred Heart Church in Moline. In addition to being Oliver's dog mom, I have a son/daughter-in-law, a grandson, and a granddaughter. I am widowed. As the Office Assistant/Receptionist at Shipman Chiropractic, Vel serves as the first point of contact for patients, making them feel comfortable and addressing any concerns they may have. Vel excels in managing appointments, coordinating schedules, and maintaining accurate records. Vel's journey in the healthcare industry began several years ago when she worked for a Gynecology Physicians in the Quad Cities. Since May of 2017 Vel has been working for Shipman Chiropractic.

Vel looks forward to coming to work each day because she has the best coworkers. My favorite part of the job is greeting and talking to patients when they enter the office. When patients visit here, it always feels like they are part of our extended family. Vel's exceptional interpersonal skills and compassionate nature makes her an invaluable asset to the Shipman Chiropractic team. Vel possesses a genuine empathy for patients. Vel goes above and beyond to create a welcoming atmosphere, offering support and reassurance to those seeking chiropractic care. Outside of work, Vel enjoys spending time with her grandchildren/family on Sundays. Additionally, she enjoys having dinner and drinks with friends. As well as taking Oliver to the park and taking walks by the river.
